Building Bridges: Library Services for the Incarcerated

How does the library community address informational needs of over 2 million Americans incarcerated in federal or state prisons and county jails? With no access to email or the Internet how do our country’s inmates gain access to the information needed to move forward? New York Public Library is the only library in the country offering USPS mail reference service to prison populations; Librarian Emily Jacobson will discuss the evolution of this unique library service.
